General Guidelines for the C4C Email List

If you want to get news/updates and stay connected with C4C at SFU, join our email list by sending us an email with your contact info.

We want to minimize the amount of emails that are sent out to this list (because we all hate spam, useless information, unwanted mail etc.) and so emails that ARE sent out to everyone on this list, are only supposed to be related to our collective group - Campus for Christ at SFU. Our purpose of having this list is to build community with each other.

1. The C4C email list is an open list, meaning that if you have an encouraging story, prayer request, or praise report that you want to share, that is definitely welcome! Go ahead and send it. But keep in mind, it will be sent to EVERYONE on the list.

2. If you have a message or announcement that you would like to send out to the C4C email list, but you’re unsure if it’s relevant, ask one of the C4C servant team members or Staff first.

For example just say you’re hosting a social, (eg. a guy’s night), for future reference, this is acceptable to be sent out to the list. No need to ask.
Also, please have a relevant subject heading in the email.

BUT examples such as information about rooms to rent or events happening at your local church are discouraged. PLEASE do not send out about these things otherwise then everyone will be sending out similar emails and that’s just bad.

3. If you just have a general announcement, unrelated to the C4C community, then you can try getting it posted on mySFU (https://my.sfu.ca), or have it put in the Peak classifieds or something (http://www.peak.sfu.ca).

4. If you have textbooks you want to buy/sell, DO NOT send these out to the list. There are many forums at the SFU Caucus Centre (https://caucus.sfu.ca) where one can buy/sell things including textbooks. Apparently there’s also a buying/selling textbook list you can join up with sfu-usedbooks@sfu.ca, the Business textbook forum (http://www.sfubiz.ca/textbooks/) and talksfu.ca.

5. Finally, if you want to unsubscribe from the C4C email list, send an email to c4csfu@sfu.ca with the heading “UNSUBSCRIBE.”
